Ghost of Tsushima review

Ghost of Tsushima review

Hey everyone this is Gamer guy here and today we are going to be talking about the game Ghost of Tsushima. What is Ghost of Tsushima you may ask, well it is an action adventure game telling you the story(or an interpretation of it) of the mongol invasion that happened in japan. This is the my experience.

(spoiler warning)

Story-line

The story begins with Jin Saki, a samurai from a dead clan, fighting in the front lines of the mongol war. The samurai charge forward, but the mongol weapons killed most of them. Jin meets up with his uncle Shimura, the Jito (lord) of Tsushima, and go fight them off, only for Jin to get knocked out and his uncle captured. He was later rescued by a thief and the two travel to find the khans fortress and challenges him to single combat. After failing to kill him, Jin hides from the mongols meeting up with the thief named Yuna and asked him to save her brother Taka. He agrees to help if she helps him save his uncle. Throughout his journey he meets with a variety of people who can help him take on the mongols: The deadly archer sensai ishikawa, the grieving widow Lady Masako, the peaceful monk Norio, and island swindler Kenji. As his journey continues Jin has to make a choice about what type of warrior he wants to be: a noble and honorable samurai or a silent ghost.

The story itself was meant to be about morals to be honorable or become your worst enemy. As you were watching the events unfold you could feel the effects war has on someone, especially Jin. when he tries to convince people to fight for him he sees that war can either bring out the best and worst in people turning them into a hero or a monster.

Game-play

The game-play itself seemed pretty straight forward to me. First off the sword combat seemed to be very balanced, the ghost weapons makes fighting the enemies a lot easier to deal with, staggering them, hiding, and luring them towards you. the stealth in the game really makes you thin out the herd of enemies faster making less people to fight.and lastly the visuals made you feel like you were actually in japan exploring the island , even the environment itself was helping foxes lead to shrines, birds lead to secrets, and the wind leads to your destination.
