Days gone review

Everyone has made some regrets for something that happened in the past. You could have killed someone, lost someone or hurt someone badly enough to destroy a friendship. Sometimes we just want to forget about the past and move on but we cant ever let go of the past because its always to important to you. That is what this story days gone is about, at least to me. In this game its about surviving the world full of zombies who have been wandering around the earth for nearly 2 years and a biker tries to survive and keep everyone safe.

Storyline

the story starts with a biker named Deacon St. John and his friend Boozer reuniting after getting separated. Deacons wife Sarah was stabbed by an infected kid after she tried to help them. the biker carried her to the roof where he saw a helicopter with survivors and begged the govt. scientist to help her but he refused. Deacon pulled out his gun and threatened him, but the scientist said only two people because of weight. Boozer was going to stay behind but Deacon sent her away promising to find her after this to help his friend. He has been trying to survive with Boozer ever since.

whats great about this story is that most of the character have their own arc onto becoming villains, friends, or better versions of themselves. For example Boozer gets injured and its up to Deacon to keep him alive and happy. he eventually reveals he is tired of surviving and want to get back to living his life. the camps leaders each have their own ways on doing things for the camps iron mike is a pacifist, tucker is a work camp, and Mark Copeland was a conspiracy theorist so how they work is differently. for deacon he continues to try and keep any reminder of his old life intact no matter what, his friends, his bike, and his soul. Even the people he never met before are someone important to him like a girl he tries to teach how to survive but is to scared.

Gameplay

the game-play mechanics are a solid 9/10 and here is why. The tracking missions for finding supplies are sometimes hard to track and difficult to locate at times. other than that it seems pretty good.

the motorcycle is always on your map so you don't lose it when you are far away. whats realistic about it is that the bike isn't indestructible it loses fuel and can be broken. you have to scavenge for scraps and any form of gas you can find and use it to help fix your bike. lastly you can get credits from a camp if you sell some zombie parts for upgrades to the bike. the thing about this mechanic I like is that it is very personal the more you upgrade it and feels like your own.

the level up system is also a factor I enjoy all the time, increasing your survival and weapon prowess. speaking of weapons, the wooden ones are better for crafting on the fly along with the healing, distraction, and trap weapons. The special weapons are for being silent or long ranged guns so its mostly preferences.

that's all i have to say about that
