Beyond Two Souls review

Spoiler alert
Have you ever felt like there is more to the world than meets the eye? if spirits exists or if they are just a myth. If so then where do they go when they die. These are the questions that people want to know about this spirit world to use for selfish purposes. The others wish to learn more about the world we live in and conduct observations to further our knowledge of the universe. The game Beyond 2 Souls talk about this to some extent. Come with me as I tell you about the choice based action adventure story about a girl and her spirit

 Storyline

Years ago a woman who had psychokinetic gave birth to twins and decided to give them up to a family but was refused to see her child. The brother died in the womb and became a spirit connected to his sister, while the sister lives and develops a bond with him. In the game we get to see several points in her life out of order. While it does make you a little confused on what is going on, you really get to learn as the story progresses as what your choices make effect the story in small ways.

Jodie

She is a troubled young woman who grew up with her parents believing her imaginary friend Aidan was just her attacking people or people calling her a monster. Her parents decided to take her to the govt. officials to cure her, but they decide to send her away. There she learned how to use her and Aidan's power to see her potential. she wasn't allowed out at most times but under rare circumstances she couldn't leave. after making friends there sh is now forced to join the army and CIA where the general gives her a mission to assassinate a dictator. after completing her mission she finds out that the army used her to kill the president and turned her into the one thing she swore she wouldn't become, a monster. so she left to go on the run for a couple years and was caught by the CIA. after one last mission she was given a new name and new identity.

the story of Jodie is an interesting one she has a lot of emotional baggage her hands leaving her sad; such as, wanting to be a normal girl, wanting a normal life, hating herself, suicide attempts, and dealing with Aidan. on the other hand she is not afraid to speak her mind and is determined to do the right thing even if it kills her. her relationship with Aidan feels like more like a symbiotic relationship then a bad one, but since they grew up together they become more friendly towards one another as time went on and they become partners. the moral of this story is that no matter how alone you feel or how hopeless things are you're not alone.

Aidan

he could be very protective of Jodie and will do anything to protect her, but other beings like Aidan scare him. As time goes on he shows he can be a little excessive at times going as far as to almost killing someone who wronged her in even if it means going against her wishes. he is also a spirit, so he can be unpredictable at times making Jodie lose control of Aidan. I believe he acts out so she hate him, but he secretly likes being like this, close to Jodie to protect her.

Gameplay

For the game play I would have to say it was a great concept of how things would go.as Jodie I would have to do things humanly possible as in combat, exploring and dialogue. As Aidan however, I have to do certain things spirits can do like fight spirits, explore the world for the spiritual sites, and possessing the souls of humans. The two people are very strong separately but when they come together you can be unstoppable. This is emphasized when there are certain parts of the game where Aidan has to save Jodie by himself. The parts where they work together show that they make the best team possible rescuing people, healing injured people, recalling the past events, and other stuff. That's all I have to say about that.
